Chris Evans

A great presenter. Very natural and fluid.

You forget how ground breaking some of his projects have been.

What he does is incredibly difficult. Stick a camcorder on yourself and try to do 5 minutes, let alone an hour.

Begrudging someone their success - as boat owners we are hardly in a position to judge others !

Henry :)

Also, we should be praising him for buying a British made boat.

I think he is a great bloke, spoke to me no problem last year, no edge with him at all.

A very clever man making use of his then ginger hair with the advent of "ginger productions" remember programmes like dont forget your toothbrush etc. He is a self made man like Richard Branson you can't knock him for that.
A real inspiration to radio 2, I turn it off after he's gone home! He helps me wind the miles off in a morning driving south from the midlands , keep buying all the things I like Chris , cars and boats are my thing too.

Oh and if you get to read this drop me a pm if you need your d4 sorting !

This was his boat of choice in 2008. Berthed in Mallorca at the time.

That boat belongs to Paul Gilbert the owner of Cala d'Or yacht Club and is berthed just below the entry staircase to the club.

Chris Evans did not charter the boat and was merely taken out for the day by Paul Gilbert as a friendly gesture which he has done to several people.

There is one or two holiday reps. who insist on telling clients that Just Ginger belongs to Chris Evans which I can assure you is complete rubbish.

:D

As long as he doesn't share Paul Gilberts shape that may be to his benefit.

(If you are reading this Paul I am only joking and we LOVE the club.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:)

I'm sick of the ginger tw*t always flaunting his wealth, his cars, his restaurants, his race track bridge, his kid etc. etc. etc. Now his poxy boat as well.
Wouldn't mind if he was a half decent presenter.
Ahhh, that's better:p

Is this not typical of the British, anyone who's made a few bob (and legally most probably in this case) and someone comes along and has a go. Go to somewhere like America and everyone applaudes the succesful but here you get put down.
BTW FAB2 is on the end of J pontoon on the hammerhead, been there a week or two now. Still got the wrappers on the deck cushions...

So why FAB 2 ????

I do believe Mr evans owns a pink rolls Royce with the registration of FAB 1 ie...... Lady Penelope's car in thunder birds :)

. . . and an astute businessman.. .

His books make excellent reading; he uses plain English, doesn't name drop (as so many others do) and admits his mistakes. Thoroughly recomended.
However, one of the points he makes repeatedly is what a dreadful businessman he is, and he does make some VERY costly mistakes in his second book. £74million, if I recall on one project alone.

I don't give a toss about his success. It's his constant reminding everyone about it that p*sses me off and as to his presenting skills I imagine those who love him also love saturday night TV.

I for one, think Chris Evans is a very good presenter and I detest Saturday Night telly.

What connection do the two have at present?

FWIW I think his radio show is absolutely great and I cant understand why people bash someone for being successful. If you don't like what he produces then don't watch / listen, simple.

I've bumped in to him a few times at the Yacht Haven and he seems like a really nice guy......

Should'nt you stop 'constantly listenening to him' then you won't get pis..ed off about him going on about his success?

Actually I hate sat night tv, that's why I'm on here!! But live the ginger nuts show.

You can't knock someone for spending money. It keeps people in employment, every time money changes hands tax is paid. Much better than just hanging onto it.
