As we are unlikely to be going to warmer climbs this year I want to escape somewhere nice and quiet for Christmas.
I've thought maybe
Island Harbour Marina

Any other suggestions?
Anyone fancy joining us?

I'm gonna light a candle and the whole family will sit around it roasting spuds and singing Carols.

Couldn’t persuade SHMBO, to cook the turkey on the boat again this year, so we compromised.....

We have booked Boxing day at The Folly, three boats so far..... The more the merrier

Shouldn't need a heater after an hour of dancing on the tables at the Folly.
I guess you meant you'd be wearing the beer jacket with thermotec fleece lining.

absolutely - heaters are for situations that start cold; everything else can be better handled with a few good layers of insulation overnight.
ps these are of course the views of someone without a heater and are therefore subject to change wiithout notice; or imediately after a post on this forum entitled my new espacher

Thanks very much for the kind invitation. I've spoken to the family about this, since we like to all have Christmas lunch together and we all think it'd be really nice to join you as suggested. There will be only eleven for lunch since Grandma's colostomy bag doesn't hold much. So she'll just have a sweet sherry. Asked Grandad if he knew where Island Harbour Marina is and he's not too sure so wondered if you'd be good enough to pick him up form Tottenham High Road around 11 o clock?

The rest of us'll make our own way, but please send us a map. Will we all be staying for New year too?

Oh and Sarah's now a vegetarian, but the rest of us are OK with Turkey. But no red meat for me, I only like breast.

We'll bring a couple of bags of nibbles for pre lunch snacks so don't go too mad on those.

Do you have enough chairs or should we bung a couple of folding ones in the boot? Oh and of course since you're the host wouldn't dream of suggesting another location, anywhere's fine by us as long as you keep the log fire burning and we can roast our chestnuts over it. Should be a good few days eh?

I.m getting very worried about you, Cutey......I know deep vein thrombosis is a hazard of flying but this sounds more like deep brain cirrosis brought on by the weekends exertions trying noot to fall off the Leopard. Anyway, you told me you were already fixed up with paulineb in Brighton for xmas and she was going to let you see the last few frames of her piccy animation thingy.........

I sense a vein of resentement on a few of your recent post Tone that I didn''t fall in. Kind of spolied your fun eh? Bet you had all the captions ready printed just waiting for the piccies to go with 'em. Must admit though to taking much more care than normal when walking round the boat. I was determeined NOT to go in. And suceeded. Tee Hee

Oh and Northern Wave's invite seems to be pretty wide, so why don't you come too and we can make a big party of it and you can take loads more piccies. And this time I just MIGHT fall in?

The only thing I resent is that you fried the tatties without boiling them first and you managed to break all the egg yolks.......so guess I wont be falling over myself to spend xmas up some god forsaken creek with you !
