Chichester Marina - The worm is back

Has anyone else in Chi looked at their props recently?

I looked at ours at the weekend and they were completely caked in the stuff. They looked more like a pair of contra rotating hedgehogs than propellors. And the boat was only launched in March.

I know Chi has a bit of a reputation for this, but I have never seen it as bad as on Sunday. It took me the best of Sunday morning to get the bulk of it off, and still have the cuts to prove it.

Also, the bowthruster has become totally ineffective, so I suppose that's all crudded up aswell. Do other marinas suffer with this problem, or is it pretty much unique to Chichester?

We're on H pontoon, and to date have not seen it, though it's three weeks since we were down. Our boat was also out in March. I have thought the bow thruster was not working as effeciently lately so maybe the problem is with us too. The boat comes out in a couple of weeks for service, so it will be interesting to see.

Our boat will be coming out of the water today so it will be interesting to see if this is the reason it is a bit slow at the moment.

I'm on "E", (but don't tell anyone) at the far end.

I noticed the boats at the near end of the pontoon were clear of it, but was unable to see any other drive gear at the far end.

Ours were at least as bad as Dougie's.

I'll be interested to hear how you get on today & likewise with Nicho

Ours has been away from Chi for about 3 weeks, we were on C12 up until recently. Got the little devils in the transom mount but the props were clear of them (and their paint..! )

My boat is down 0.5 to 0.75 knots under power which is a sure sign of weed and the little blighters. The impeller was cacked in them.
