I think he meant "Halon Replacement" i.e. FM200 rather than some "replacement Halon" fire extinguishers, which are illegal /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

all depends where the quotes are!

That is the upside.

The downside could be crop failure and deserts in the hotter countries, melting polar caps in the very cold countries, rising sea levels, etc.

Ta for the replies
Was thinking of ECS Halon replacement extinguisher GTFE1000 = 1.7cu.m.
2 of, for the engine bay of a Bayliner Cierra 2355

They are between 80 and 100 each at the moment, I knew I should have bought some at the boat show, a pair for 140...

anyone seen them cheaper?
anyone know if I'm buying the right size for the engine bay?

Cheers

GTFE is the way to go, the FE36 gas is more powerful than FM200 gas at putting fires out.

You would be better to have one big GTFE2000 than two GTFE1000 units.

one may go off and not quite manage to put the fire out, then the second one goes off and again doesnt quite manage to put the fire out.

Gaelforce marine is where I deal with.01463 229400
