They are all basically the same this is deffo an area where Price and Quality are not linked
Funny really they say Planar are Russian made yet my Nephew who has lived in Russia for many years says everything there is made in China.
That said is it possible that this Thread can back on track with what the OP is trying to achieve without any of the politics.
@Bigplumbs Many thanks for your previous comment - I have now fitted the CDH and works a charm the only downside was over the Xmas holidays the temperature outside was 16 degrees but was nice and warm on a evening pics to follow on a thread I will create
Watch this space - might have news soon !Hi Trev,
Happy New Year to you when it comes...
Any thoughts on another boat? I find a moored boat much more convenient to use, if I had a trailer Cuddy or RIB it would no doubt cost less to run, but my boating would be severely restricted.
Sorry for thread hijack Dennis!

reply deleted - can't be bothered with the hassle.
Apologies as I have nor read the whole thread, but can remember CE marking on china made goods actually meaning China Export, myth or not it made me smile as people seem to place great faith in it.
Didn't know they could run on heating oil, interesting! Is there anything to do to run on this? Now here is a little bit of feed back on fuel consumption. I am sure some of you would want better figures and better science than this but this is how I do stuff...... Real world.
As most of you know the heater is in my 4 m x 5 m log cabin that is not insulated. The tank size is 4 ltrs and I am using heating oil. There is a sight 'glass' on the side but as Heating oil is quite clear it is difficult to see the level.
Over the Christmas break I have been using it in the cabin on and off for short periods of time as I have done various small jobs etc in there and I suspect it has been on 6 - 10 times for say 8 - 15 mins a time which is plenty to heat the cabin and take the chill off to work comfortably. I just did a small job in the cabin (5 degrees C outside) and it was soon up to 14 degrees which was pleasant with outside cloths on.
I thought to my self. I will have to fill that tank up soon...... Over I went with my little dip stick and I was totally amazed that the tank was still 80 - 85 % full.
So it general terms and real world use you will use it a long time before you have to fill up with another 4 ltrs.
Great! I'm going to do this for garage so looking forward to the install thread so i can follow.I just bought another one from ebay for £89 delivered. This is the one with all separate parts. I will do another thread of its install this time I think on the outside of one of my other sheds sheds

can yopu put the link up of the one your buying at £89 please
thanks, im not stuck for space so is the one with the casing a better option?Nothing to do to run them on Heating oil. My latest one arrived yesterday 2 days after order. Here is the link you requested. This is where it is all separate and not in the case which can be better for tight locations

Good to know, think heating and paraffin are a lot cleaner than dieselA lot of folk seem to think ebers and webastos run cleaner on heating oil than diesel, parafin is also an easy option and smells better at the exhaust.
When I had an inland boat on petrol outboard I used to run a webasto from a portable outboard tank on parafin using an outboard bayonet connection at the tank, that was a 24v version that I picked up cheap and used a laptop adaptor to up the voltage.
Then only dangers with the Chinese diesel heater is how it is installed and the installer if you've done your homework then they are no more dangerous then a branded heaterYes it has not been that cold in the UK at all has it. Glad you have got something from this thread
