You obviously have not tried one. I have and now have 3 in various applications the first 2 are performing very well. This one needs more time.

Because I now have 3 of them, Have tested them, Know others who have them and know they are good. It is not this particular product I am defensive of it is the Truth that I am defending.

When people who have no experience of things come on and bang on about this and that I am afraid that is just plain stupid. The world needs less stupidity and more information from people who know what they are actually talking about.

The other reason is I like other people to take advantage of very good well priced products that I have actually tested myself.

Will those do as reasons
 
How can anyone say that the Chinese diesel heater are illegally imported - there must 100's of 1000's here and in the U.S and not one customs official has seized one ???
As for CE mark for a gaseous burner - My log burner in my house doesn't have one.
 
The chinese heaters right from the outset included a comprehensive diagnostic display.
You can change settings, view combustion temp etc.
Seems the others that are now copying this ?
Remember these are parking heaters, ie for a vehicle so buying marine parts to upgrade them is fine. I can see my heater making 10 years, but will have to wait just over 6 years to find out if it does !
 
All diesel heaters need some thought about installing on a boat.
Sorting the exhaust and lagging it is quite a bit of work.
Some recent threads on the PBO forum.

The stand alone 'heater in a box' units avoid a bit of faff with the fuel system, but the exhaust is the same old hassle.

CO alarms are £16 in Argos, just get one.

I have never read so much c*** in my life, you live in some fantasy land if you believe you can just make up your own mind on what you can and can’t do, the law is the law wether you believe your above it or not and it’s idiots like you that give the need for tighter control.
I guess it’s the fact I do know what I’m talking about that bothers you as clearly you don’t.
I’m done with this.

The Law is indeed the Law. You just don't know what it is. Never ever said I was above it. You seemed to decide that in your fantasy land.

Are you intending to buy one of these heaters.... If not perhaps you should comment in a thread that is relevant to you....... Oh I forgot you said you were done with this.... So you wont be commenting again.. Happy Christmas
 
Right - let the dust settle at the end of the day the OP has raised His thread about his heater - the legal technicalities whether right or wrong is not the conversation.
If its any consolation I am in the middle of fitting my own heater and have taken 2 years planning it looking through 100's of youtube videos, forums etc to make sure that my install was a safe as practicable.
As for Insurers which I think is of the utmost here - I enquired with Y Yacht who I was with at the time and there response was that the underwriters required installation photographs so that everything was installed correctly then they would be happy to continue my Insurance as is - probably the same as having a bow thruster fitted (if its done correctly all is good if not your'e going to sink)

Are you sure the internals are steel? Aluminium casting from my memory of 3 yrs ago when I dismantled mine after 20 hours testing in my workshop before fitting in my boat. I did upgrade a few items for marine spec though. Well pleased with it and considerably cheaper than the Eber/Webasto. Spares also much cheaper so a no brainer for me. Lavaner make a 'pro' version with encapsulated ecu.

Good luck with your install. It is the ducting for the warm air outlet that provides the most Difficult Challenge
 
I've got three of them, (not the all in ones) two in use and one as a spare.
Over the summer I open them up to clean the burner chamber, very rarely do they need it. I also check the integrity of the components, no problems.
I've owned them for several years now and the only fault was a glow plug, replaced for £12.
One thing that does make a big difference is an "Afterburner" control unit from Ray Jones.
Well worth the money if you can get one. Home

I wouldn’t have a cheap Chinese heater given to me. In fact I haven’t even eaten a Chinese takeaway since they introduced us to corona .

I am sure that is helping a lot..... Could we perhaps confine the comments to the Heater.... Christmas cancelled in our house unfortunately so may well fit it in the Shed tomorrow
