Your thread title says "adjustable support", but your picture shows a support which isn't adjustable.
I fitted a cheap gas strut on my chart table. It isn't adjustable either, but works very well. Loads on eBay as kitchen accessories.

It could be adjustable as in move the fixing point and it could be adjustable to fit a whole range of measurements.

I have the Force 4 spring supports on my chart table and aft cabin lift lid locker. Also a large version on the cockpit locker lid.
They are simple and work well, wonderful invention.

Is there a reason you don’t also want one on your chart table lid? It’s the same type of prop as in your picture - not exactly the same model, but similar length and works the same way.
