Channel Crossing

As several posts have suggested, the original query by Moose was surely a windup.
If it was an innocent question, then the answer is perhaps 'please don't go anywhere!'.

Ok. I'll help you out then. First Rock is White Rock. Take a right till nearly past it, then turn left till nearly hitting it. Theres some lumps and a tower thingy. Just miss that. Then turn back right again, but only a little bit. Then straight on. Next rock is Alderney Rock. If you see that. Youve gone to far. So turn left. Next rock is France Rock. Cherburg should be just about there in the middle. Any questions!!.

Pathfinder Powerboat club have done several cross channel crossings with (before my time) boats of as small as 17' I believe. Subject to good weather window, and scrutiny of experience of skipper and crew. Small boats have been doing this crossing for years with no problems. Planning one for small trailer boats Ramsgate to Dunkirk I think, and another for larger boats and small with experienced crew Solent to Cherbourg, this year.

Have a look on the Pathfinder website for the x channel co-ordinators guide, and you'll get a good check list of things to plan and do before hand.

If, as you have done, you need to ask advice, I would seriously suggest you go in company of another boat or two if you haven't done it before though

Re: Channel Crossing - Suggestion!

Suggest you contact Chichester Yacht Club. They have a good Motor Boat section they do lots of Cruising in Company trips including weekends and cross channel events.
Check out their web site www.cyc.co.uk
