Hi all,
I've just read all he accumulated wisdom on the pro's and con's of the centre cockpit.... and feel fairly in favour of them, especially in the 38ft+ area. HOWEVER!! What no-one seems to have addressed is the ease (or otherwise) of stern-too mooring with these. I would have thought that short-handed...or single handed the distance from the cockpit to the stern (on a 42ft say) means the helmsman either has to leave the cockpit controls for a goodly while whilst he/she scrambles aft to throw a line or has to have a serious heave of the mooring warp from the cockpit. Also...being that far back from the transom, isn't it tricky to see just how far you are from the berth?
Look forward to hearing any comments... or am I being a limp-wristed whoose!!
