High winds and Tides are passing and have just learned that we have escaped with no damage to yachts or Pontoons. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Glad to hear alls OK. Certainly bad timing to get storm force Westerlies low pressure and Big springs all at once. The pill must have been quite large at HW?

Floating pontoons in a Pill? Thats a bit of a rarity round these 'ere parts.
Do they allow a 3' draught boat to stay afloat at LW and if so can visitors (ie me!) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif use them?

Oh yes you can, 4ft 6" in the mud by the club house side, but put a line from top of mast to cleat on pontoon and you will sit upright. Mud depth varies over the year, depending on how much is scoured out. always plenty near the front trots.
We have had a 32ft Sadler with bilge keels on the moorings, so there! and yes you can Sneddon. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very few places around the channel where you can stay afloat on a pontoon at LW other than in a dock or marina.

some good mud to settle in though.

About the only LW floating pontoon I can think of is the one in the middle of the bay at Dale.

Thanks for the replies, like to stay afloat (in water) as don't want all that mud sucked up into my cooling water intakes (we have no sails!).
Anyone know if the pool outside Porlock remains "wet" at low water neaps? I have read it is charted at 1M, have tried to find more info on the net, but failed.

"Sneddon, no mains power... Andy wont like it!"

No worries, we've got an invertor for the telly!

BTW Andy is Andi, female, wife, just in case anyone was wondering /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

like it... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

there is a pool outside porlock approx 1m depth, have stayed there before, check with harbour master first and he might reserve a spot for you... lovely place btw.

Ha, Iain I didn't mean to make it sound like that. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Sorry Andi, for the spelling mistake... grovel...grovel)

I suppose the same mistake could be made with me and my SWMBO. Her name being Ashley /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
