Started carving a figurehead for another small boat we are building

I take it the boat's to be called "Studland Bay".

Nice chunk of timber; what is it? Lime?

Mahogany - cut 30 years ago - think the flash photography makes it look a lot lighter - it is light though

I use 36 grit on a grinder to get the initial and close shape

Don't get the Venus?
