i may as well go back to work :(

in fact today feels like i have been.
had to jump over the side and unblock a toilet sea cock.... it was a bit fresh to say the least... Note to self... wear a wetsuit next time haha

It was fantastic at 7 this morning when I rowed out to check my boat's bilge and I cursed not having got up an hour earlier to catch the tide properly.

By 9 it was cloudy and blowing so I'd got over that.

Don't envy you the dip.

it was a bit blowy here in jersey all morning. I came over for some RnR..
so far weather is dire
I had a good little jaunt to Italy for work... makes a nice change for me to get out of the north sea.

And now I see the attraction of med boating... it was scorching.... :)
And the women were hot too...

I am thinking about selling up if this rubbish weather continues! I am getting fed up searching and hoping for a decent weather forecast for the weekend, only to be stuck in the marina watching the rain bouncing off the windows and the wind blowing a hooly. I hope and hope for some decent weather, but ultimately I can only take so many disappointments before giving up hope. I honestly think that we have not had one decent weekend for about 7 months here in the West of Scotland! My rough definition of decent weather is not even that high i.e. mostly dry, wind less than 10 mph, mostly blue sky and above about 10 degrees.

While I am moaning - the weather sites don't seem to be even close to agreeing what the weather is likely to do. Even different Met office sites can't agree. I use the Inshore forecast which as far as I can tell never hasn't got a Strong Wind Warning displayed. It will usually have a wide range of "F" windspeeds to the point of almost meaningless i.e. F3 to F6 occasional F7 !! I then look at their more general site which will state wind speeds during the period with No Gusts forecast. Then XC Weather will tell me that the wind is 8 mph and fair, when it's p#ssing down. Windfinder will then tell me it's 15mph gusting to 28 mph.

Maybe the profits of doom are right and the weather is getting worse every year. Certainly the past 3 years where we are in bonny Scotland seems to have been dreadful! Despite what the reputation might be for the west coast of Scotland in some peoples eyes, Scotland often has great weather, or at least it has had regularly in the past. We have been boating for about 25 years and I honestly cannot recall 3 seasons in a row being blighted by such terrible weather. Still not much we can do about it I suppose, other than hope it gets better! Or move to another country!

I quite agree - the met office sites are particularly useless ..
I watch the weather for cycling to work as well - the number of times they've forecast rain for the next day only to change it the next morning is ridiculous ...

Although it would be nice to have an hour by hour forecast for the next 5-7 days I'd rather they just got tomorrow's weather right the day before.

Just had a week in Majorca on a rag and stick thingy...not enough wind out there and ended up motoring.:( Already looked up the potential of sending my boat down. Ryanair out of Bournemouth which is 30 mins away and cheap as chips.
The UK weather's making it look much more likely to seriously think about a move.....
