I see they have a special deal going for berthing
It might persuade a prospective new owner that VAT was paid, though. As they have advertised their scam widely, I think you will find that a Carlingford Marina receipt for berthing in Dec/Jan will not be accepted as evidence of anything by anybody, and might even ring alarm bells for extra careful investigation.
Yes, when it was still ’built’ out of sunken ships..Judging by the disgraceful condition it was in when I stopped off there a way back, they need to - have you been there?
I can book and pay for a hotel room for two nights without staying there. I can book and pay for car parking for two nights without leaving my car there. I can't see any fraud on the part of the hotelier, parking company or marina, as long as nothing they produce says I was actually there. Even then, I suspect that it would be my responsibility not to make fraudulent use of the false statement. What law criminalises lying about the location of someone else's boat?So they are inviting you to berth your boat there for 2 specific nights and issue a receipt to say that straight away without waiting to see if you actually turn up.
Is this not a little bit close to being fraud?
