Can't bring myself to sell the V48, I may have to have two boats

I'd seriously look at something like a Boston Whaler with a big outboard to keep on the dry stack at Yacht Haven. Quickly out to the wrecks and back to stay on the V48. Best of both worlds. And great fun too.

Better book a trip to Miami next week and head to Ft Lauderdale.

There is a very fine new Hattras being launched that will top 40 knots.

Perfect timing if you ask me ..

There's a trailer width limit, which is a prob for US trailers but any UK trailer would be ok. Towing weight limit will be your main limitation, 3.5T all up (trailer, boat, contents) is the max you'll get to with a car - the Disco is plated for 3.5T. You should have a look at Nick's thread about this, lots of useful info and similar criteria to yours, I think.

Edit: here's Nick's thread:

We've just had a 3 ton 28ft Marex transported within the UK. All three transport co's did not want to risk a Landy/4x4 and trailer, although she was just within limits. Big problem is braking hard or emergency stops. You might see a boat and trailer going past your car window :(

Are you looking new or used? What sort of budget?

There are plenty of boats out there to suit your requirements. I'm just going to chuck one in that you may not have thought about, or come across. http://www.coryyachts.co.uk/invicta-295/

I like that Neale, looks a very nice boat, very much Botnia Targa style but (IMO) vastly superior as shaft;)

One of the Uk rib manufactures makes an angling rib with double thickness tubes which are hook proof.(ribcraft ? Special order you need to phone)

Maybe get one to fit on your swim platform: a 4 mtr rib with deep v is a very very capable sea boat; round Ireland race has a 4 mtr class with 60hp OB's.....
