can eney one tell me what aluminum boat is , i been tring to find info a bout it

Hi
I think the boat in your pic is the Mercator 105-1. I met the builders when i used to keep my boat in Arzal in France, and they showed me over their new boat - i think it was the 120 then. It looked very well built and cleverly laid out below.
If you're still interested i'll see if i can find their business card in my records and a couple of pics i took that day.

Given that even a well-equipped yard would take 6 months to build it, a week is neither here nor there; DIY you will do well to lauch inside 2 years.

Oops, you are right. It's the other French builder of Aluminium yachts that have round bilges, I've seen them but I can't remember the make.

Perhaps the Maracuja yachts?
Here is one for sale :

They are built by Garcia - http://www.garcia-yachting.com/

Some friends sailed theirs across the Atlantic in 1989 after buying her in France - 14 days from the Canaries to Barbados, doing a steady 200 miles every day surfing down the trades with twin genoas poled out and the keel wound up.
Gorgeous boat.
Her only failing then was a very cantankerous Volvo MD3B with salt water cooling. Subsequent owners changed to a Yanmar, which was much happier.

Watermint, unless you are absolutely desperate to build a boat yourself, it would probably still 'work out' cheaper in the long run to buy an existing secondhand vessel such as a Garcia or an Ovni?
