Does anyone know where I can get a calorifier with two heating coils and an immersion heater?

I want to be able to heat the water from either of three sources - immersion when in a marina, from the engine when underway, or from Eberspacher when at anchor.

I don't want to have change-over valves - from engine/Eberspacher - unless there is no other option.

How do you propose to deliver heat from the Eberspacher to the calorifier?

The idea is nice but I thought there were more up market marine heaters available where the primary heater incorporates a boiler.

I have a Hydronic Eberspacher fitted that feeds two water filled radiators and the calorifier at present.

I want to fit a new calorifier with two heating coils, so that I can also heat it from the FW cooled engine - and also by immersion element.. I don't really want to mix the engine cooling water with the Eberspacher water - even with a change-over valve.

Thanks to all for the links.

That's the jobby!! or at least the horizontal one. The price is quite reasonable as well. I will have a look at them at the SBS. I have the catalogue, but didn't give it a thought to look in it !!!

Next job is to measure up the calorifier now fitted and see what size I can put in its place.

Try 01983 400464 This should be the number of the man who is at the beauleigh boat jumble each year that economically manufacturers calorifiers to your specifications/requirements. has to be worth a try.

Thanks to Paul, Nigel and Robind for the latest pointers.

Paul - interesting. I may contact them over the winter.

Nigel - in cooking terms, "I have all the ingredients, but need a new mixing bowl." At present the calorifier is heated from the Hydronic Eberspacher. It was originally heated from the engine before the previous owner installed the Hydronic. The pipes are still there but blanked off. I have shore supply that would heat an immersion. Hence wanting a new calorifier with two heating coils and an immersion. I did have a gas heater on a previous boat (and it was excellent), but don't really have the space for one on this boat.

Robind - I will give him a call later in the season.

I've made a note of all the numbers and url's.

Many thanks to all.

No prob .... Phillip ...

Like most - apprecaite leads and other ideas to solve something and the 'caravan' style water heater has been on my list for along time - after having the luxury of a Carver unit and shower in my last van ........
It was Calor powered with catalyst system and 12V .... fantastic and extremely controllable .... had a remote thermostat just like in home.
If you have the pipes aetc. already there - exactly - why not - go for it and I wish all the best ..... me ? I shall continue that plod along the pontoon to the showers etc.

Cheers
