There where some discussions about calculators a few month ago,
I have looked over the web and found these:
1 Texas Instruments calculators
1.1 For Ti-83 an Ti-84 series, Look at this site:
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/authors/74/7404.html
....It's all freeware and has a complete userguide. (calculator $90)
....the programme can be used for both coastal and celestial navigation.
You'll find 1 programme over here in 4 versions:
English language based for Ti-83
English language based for Ti-83 plus / Ti-83 se / Ti-84 series
Dutch language based for Ti-83
Dutch language based for Ti-83 plus / Ti-83 se / Ti-84 series
notice that the Ti-84 will be in the shops by June 2004
1.2 For Ti-86, Ti-89 and Ti-92 series, Look at this site:
www.starpilot.com
....software priced from 129 US dollars, if downloaded. (calculator $ 200)
....the programme can be used for both coastal and celestial navigation.
Hewlett Packard, only for celestial navigation!
2.1 For HP 48 sx and HP48GX, look at this site:
http://www.samsoncables.com/catalog/prodDetail.cfm?Prod_ID=239&Sku=10121DT1AF
... Cel Nav Pac, on a memory card, price $100 (calculator $200)
2.2 For HP 48 and 49, look at this site
http://www.hpcalc.org/search.php?query=celestial&hp48=1&hp49=1
... All freeware programs for celestial sights, no user guides.
3.1 Tamaya, look at this site
http://www.cassens-plath.de/catalog/104d.html
.... Calculator with build in program, price unkown
4.1 Celesticomp V, look at this site
http://www.cassens-plath.de/catalog/105d.html
.... Calculator with build in program, price unknown
As far as I can see there are some real differences:
The freeware program has to be updated for the stars every year. (can you do by downloading the update, or do it yourself). All other programs will work until 2100.
The Ti programs also have usefull things like dr pos calc and tidal calc possibilities.
