cabin cruisers

Been looking at Aquador 32C as i want a boat thats comfy, stable & single engine on shaft. don't want a sports or a flybridge so can any one recommend makes similar to Aquador please.

Re: cabin cruisers

Interesting isn't it that all of the above mentioned boats are scandinavian, and are sound boats, especially Nimbus, Aquador, and bulletproof Botnia. Is this an area that the UK builders have neglected in favour of gleaming gin palaces?
Also worth a look are Skibsplast and Askeladden.

Re: cabin cruisers

We have just taken delivery of our Succes 108 Ultra - 10.8 mtrs oal. She is displacement hull, single diesel 140hp Vetus
with many of our ouwn ideas incorporated in the build. Fantastic co-operation between factory in Holland, the Agent and my wife and myself to get the boat we wanted.

Certainly worth looking at IMHO.

We have no connection to either company - just very satisfied customers.

Re: cabin cruisers

Trying to think of a UK builder who is able to offer a seaworthy zippy 30 ft boat sans fly and none come to mind. What is it with the UK market that you can either have a zip infested sports boat or a .25 millon fly and er...thats it really.Yet we must have a greater up river/estuary area combination than any other nation that would suit this sort of boat down to the ground.Only option is to go the Mitchell 31 type route and not everyone wants to chug along all the time.
Enjoy trips up the narrow bits of the Thames and Medway as much as along the the coast and the open bits of water.

Re: cabin cruisers

Would definatley recomend the Aquador 32C, parents had one - really nice boat, went like stink too with a 370HP Yanmar in it.

Re: cabin cruisers

Botnia will be outdrive at that size, possibly Finnmaster is as well - do they go as big as 32ft?
Aquadors look the plushest of all with their polished woodwork, Nimbus slightly less so, Botnia very basic. Another option would be SB - look like Botnias but are shaft driven.

Re: cabin cruisers

Comfy and/or stable? I know nothing about that. Single engine on a shaft, no flybridge or sports? Approx similar to Aquador 32C? Interesting – if only as people have already mentioned – they’re not many similar in characteristics to the Aquador 32 – ie stylish, sporty, Vee-type hull (is it?), very very powerful diesel, single shaft – with a lot of speed potential…

But you asked single engine, shaft, no flybridge or sports (what’s a sports?) – there are some vessels. Slightly smaller: SB Minor 28, Saga 26, NB 820, Nimbus 280 Coupe, Harley 25FS, Hardy Marina, Kent 28, Mitchell 28 Warrior, Seaward 25, ACM 26, Rhea 750 or 850, Menorquin 8M, Rodman 800, Starfisher 840, Astinor 840, Quicksilver 750, Lema Galera 7.48, Bénéteau Antares 760, Jeanneau 805… Similar size: Astinor 1000LX, Faeton 930 Moraga, Rodman 900, Beneteau 9.80, Jeanneau 32, Landau Continental 29, Mitchell 31, Channel Island 32, Lochin 33, Powerglide 30 Sport, Halvorsen Gormet 32 (maybe available with a single?), Kent 31 (ditto?), Aqua Star 33, Kingfisher 31 Sport, SB34, Saga 29, Marex 330, Nimbus 320 Coupé, Vicki 32, your Aquador 32 Cabin, NB840, Aqua Bell 33, Legacy 34 Sedan, Nordic Tugs 37 Convertible, Rhea 1100… Or smaller still? Rodman 700, Galera 700, Ocqueteau 700, SB770 Offshore, Viksund 260 (?), Arvor 700, Trusty 21. The list goes…

I’ve no doubt left out very many boats – I know nothing about boats - I'm as thick as two short planks - and the number of boats increases if you include out-drives/jet/outboard etc…

Good luck.

Re: cabin cruisers

Well that's given him a couple of leads then /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, mind you some are too slow and a lot are more "fishing boat" than Aquador competitor.
An admirable first attempt though.

Re: cabin cruisers

Quite! But evryone else realised i didn't mean a fishing boat or a tug, & thanks to all for the input i'll certainly look at the nimbus & a couple others.
it's really nice to have the experience of a vast array of people on tap - much appreciated
