I used to use poster paint, the water based school stuff, to paint bulbs red for night use in the wheelhouse, but I know ofd the other stuff, try an arty type shop. Also used for painted stained glass.

Yes there is special stuff - It is used by Disk Jockeys (mobile Discos) for their flashing coloured lights.

It is sold as Glass Paint and Maplins sell it. There are two types - the heat proof stuff for 240 volts and the basic Arty stuff when it will not get hot.

Re: The cinema? or...

I can see it now...
Sound-to-light nav lights!

Y-M-C-A- .......I said.. Young man, when you're down on your luck.........

Bagsy be the biker type with droopy moustache.
Any taker for the others? I vote
Burgundyben- for the construction worker, cos he's doing all that sanding malarky.
Boatone- for the Indian (sometimes spitting feathers)
JFM- for Speed cop (Gatso kid?)
And your nominations are?

In the Pilot House, there are many twin bulbed lights, with each bulb having its own switch. Therefore, for night work, I could either change one of the bulbs in the set to red, or paint the bulb. Therefore, investigating the possibilities...

The idea of the disco appealed to our sons - but not to us!
