Annual contract or per night? Also…40’ is just under 12m whereas an awful lot of “40’” sailing boats are just over 12m which can make a big difference

That seems more than the hamble or even Yarmouth ?but I’m sure given location and facilities it’s worth every penny at st K.

I raised this as someone was complaining that marinas wouldn't divulge their prices on their websites and wondered if the members of this forum were prepared to help out.

Off-topic: although Dean and Reddyhoff was not the snappiest of names, I am not enamoured of the new "Boat Folk" branding.

Salterns in Poole was always one of the more expensive south coast marinas. Annual berthing rates not available on their website, but daily for a 12m is £60

£75 for a night for a 13m yacht as a visitor to Brixham Marina? Everywhere else was around £50. Marina isn't exactly the best I've been to. Brixham wasn't the place I remembered from 40 years ago either. Either it's changed for the worse, or I've changed for the better

£18.50 today for a 41ft lunchtime stop to get bounced around at Trinity Landing Cowes. Little wonder I rarely go to Cowes. I spend my money elsewhere. Demand and supply I guess as all of the marinas were full.

Value for money is a worse challenge.

Places that charge £20 and after a night you'd pay £20 not to stay there.

St Malo on the visitors pontoon. Like sleeping in a tumble dryer!

I think if you can the advice at St malo is to go through the lock and not waste time at sablan marina bouncing around but just my personal experience . I have also found the berths rather narrow at sablans but chandlery was quite good.

One thing in favour of Beaulieu, though: they don't charge extra for cats. I'm 8m, so I'll pay the rate for 8M, in spite of being just over 4M wide. Quite reasonably, they want to know when I book, so they can put me somewhere suitable. One thing against Beaulieu: the Master Builder' restaurant wasn't open to non-residents when we went a few weeks ago.

For visitor rates it was the most expensive I ever paid in my previous boat some years ago, but having been there a few weeks ago it now seems average at £4m for 10m and has improved facilities.

Poole Quay at £4.50m in summer is the most I have paid recently, and felt particularly poor value when the facilities are across the road. The staff seemed to agree.

You don't have to be on the east coast, just not on those parts of the south coast that exact that magnitude of tribute.
