On the 6pm news tonight. The venue for the annual Bury black pudding throwing contest has closed down and there desperately looking for a new one.

The contestants have to knock a Yorkshire pudding off a wall.

Last year it was won by an Australian.

Famous Bury black puddings are unfortunatly not made in Bury any more. They are made in a little place called Waterfoot, where they make 30,000 black puddings a week.
Not many folk know that!!

Thanks Haydn, now all I need to know is the meaning of life and I can die in the fullness of knowledge.

Often wondered what Black Pudding was used for, now I know.
Had a horrible thought that some people actually ate it!.......

I ate six this week on account of the failed trip to the stag night.

Just boil them in water for twenty minutes, cut them open. Add mustard vingar and salt and pepper. Alot less bother than cooking lobster and scalops IMHO!

Just the thought of it puts me off, remember watching a T.V cookery program showing this old dear
making them,
even the chef threw up!

Have you tried the local Cornish delicacy "Hogs Pudding" when your down this way? not that crap
they sell in the supermarkets.
The traditional Hogs Pud, cannot beat it in a sandwich with brown sauce or fried for breakfast!

No. You need the real Bury black pudding, strangly enough now made in Waterfoot. You nead the big square lumps of fat and the round pieces of barlly. Also need proper Sarsons vinigar. Not crap french stuff, which is fine for salads but rubbish with chips.
