.....with all the waste of energy that people put into having a go at at YBW for editing the site. The fora are theirs and if they want to maintain an element of control then so be it. I and, I suspect, virtually all users are perfectly happy with the way it is run and moderated.

Quite why some have to continually bleat about excessive moderation and liken this to a big brother attitude is beyond most users here I would imagine. Do they have nothing better to do?

As for intellectual property rights and copyright being breached when our posts are moderated - what complete and utter b***ls.

If we use this site then quite simply we have to abide by their rules, it is their bat and ball and if some do not like it then go play elsewhere.

imho this site should be used for what it is intended and not for postings that again imho are put there purely to provoke.

Totally agree with you. This site is funded by YBW and is a good site. Why should they not dictate and control terms of usage? and remove offending material. You have only look at the google site for sailing to see how offensive it can get if not controlled.

Quite agree. I enjoy the forums and indeed have received some useful replies to various queries that I haveposted from time to time, but accept that as they are funded by the various magazines that there may be a degree of editorial control, although to be perfectly honest I do not often detect it, other than when someone has been overtly advertising or using the forums for commercial gain,or in one instance on a thread with which I was involved where someone who did not agree with what had been written viscously attacked other contributors, when it was obvious that this person had a good knowledge of the subject (Wiring/Volts/Amps) could have made a very useful and valid contribution rather than attemt to ridicule others who were trying to help the original enquirer.

Re: Silent majority strike back

I completely agree with bored now.Without moderation the site would degenerate to the point of being unusable.

One of my postings was deleted for legal reasons ,and on reflection ,(even though my post was accurate and truthfull) I agree it had to go.

Congratulations to Kim on running a lively site.

Is that word \"bowels\"?

please let me know. After half an hour's trying I can't get anything else to fit that number of missing letters replaced by asterisks.

Totally agree too. Seems to me that these people (and we can see who they are, so now I don't even bother opening their posts) need to get out more, but preferably not while I'm on the water. Keep up the good work Kim, it's great to be able to share with like minded people, and perhaps you dont remove enough posts yet.

Re: Just an observation!

Cobra

Just out of curiousity why did you see fit to place a rival site address on your posting?

Was it absolutely necessary?

Re: It is a naughtical expression

Oh, if it rhymes with rowlocks we'd better take the w out then!
Did you mean to spell naughtical like that?

I may have outsmarted myself

I thought that "naughtical" was a witty phonem and a play on words that may have had some amusement value. I apologise for being a witty smart ass.

No I had clocked it. Just my over droll reply... In view of all the other shit that I'm happy to have missed over the weekend, I must remember to display my sense of humour.
