So there we were, 2nd boat out on the raft at Weymouth last Saturday and just making off our lines, all in the pouring rain, when this voice hails my from the dock side.

"hello suh, is this your boat?"

"yes it is" say I looking up and observing 4 bedragled Asians looking down at me.

"We are down from London and making Bollywood video" says the spokesman.

"Oh yea" says I ( in my deepest tones of scepticism),and looking around for the Candid camera film crew.

"Oh yes sar, and we would like to hire your boat to do some filming from"

By this time I wondering if I'm the victim of some cruel joke by my work colleagues or whether these guys are going to hijack me, and command me to sail to Kabul.

But this time he is explaning that the star of this Video is the pretty girl at his side and the guy in the tight yellow shirt and the (now in the pouring rain) almost see through white flares.

Of course we are now the center of attention of about every crew nearby, I summon up my best negociating voice and say... How much mate, whats the bottom line?

"£200 for just 1 hour"

"Cash"

"Yes"

"Done"

By this time of course we have another boat on our outside and the Asians have gone of to get their gear, leaving a mobile phone nr. We sit on the boat and chat to the new boat along side who say that they are quite happy to move to let us out but eventually went off to do some shopping, in which time the Asians reappear with all their gear.

We couldnt get out, so the Asians eventually had to go off and find another boat to star in their movie.

20 mins later, not 1 but 2 big sea angling boats go by with "My" film crew on board!

Oh well, win some loose some, I wonder what the local boyz charged 'em?

Just goes to show that even a wet afternoon in Weymouth can have something new to take your mind off the weather.

All best, Nick (almost star of the small screen)
