One child is autistic with profound learning difficulties - the other is unable to walk and talk. I would imagine that their opinion on swapping a comfortable home for a Beneteau would be rather difficult to obtain.

It is, of course, an immense burden to bear, and the parents of course deserve the option to live a life they enjoy, but an Atlantic crossing to the US is quite a passage.

This may well be "Henrietta's Dream", but it could be utterly nightmarish for the children. Let us hope that the family (and associated carers) have chartered over a lengthy enough period to gauge how much fun it was, before they sold everything.

If there were no risks attached it would be a totally unremarkable project. They appear not to be in any hurry to get where they are going and should be able to take the journey to the Med in easy stages if they choose to. They will gain huge amounts of experience on the way. If it turns out to be unmanageable to continue they can change their mind almost anytime.

I wish them well and hope they are not too proud to change their plans if sensible to do so.
