Boaty Number Plates

Childish games ...

When as a kid travelling in the car ... My mum started me on a game.

take any number plate on a car you see on the road and try to make each number from the other numbers .... ie.

J567 DUK (just made this up !!)

The 5 can be got from 7 - 6 = 1. 6 - 1 = 5

Get the idea ?? Permutations of the numbers to arrive at each one is actually easy.

As an older person - sometimes I find myself doing it still !!

Re: Childish games ...

Its a real b.......d - as once you start it becomes a habit !!!

Sorry about that ...............

Good for the mental arithmetic practice thoiugh !!

Quite. There is no point.
But what's the matter with that? If you want them and it amuses you, why the hell not?
Unlike so much these days, it doesn't harm or inconvenience anyone else.

Why not indeed? I like the scheme where DVLA sells interesting combinations - it helps to finance the rest of us /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Some think people who have them are cool, some think they're prats. It's a free(ish) country.

p.s. do you have one?

Of course I do. (Not boaty though)

So does my wife. She's called Maz

yo! I used to have similar on another car, but some dangerous irish sounding person said "that's a county fermanagh number plate, sure it is..." so i went off them.

Round here i am pretty unique in not having personalised number plate...

i have a number plate which spells the name of the boat, for £250 i thought it was a good buy, plates similar now £1999, but only if you are prepared to buy at whose prices... if you look at the plate auctions they go for ridulous 5 figure prices.
