Sorry my bad guys when I said “ best outcome “ I missed off this “ least invasive “ .
Go figure ! ……esp with the spine .Heard of nerves by any chance ;)
Why on earth would a Consultant Anaesthetist know anything about anatomy of the spine, epidural space, spinal cord and nerve roots?
Are you going to get round to answering my question and sharing your expertise further?

Consultant Anaesthetist or whatever, they all start off as ordinary Doctors, so they should know as much as any other Doctor.

I'm sure that Refueler is in distress, and would benefit from having fewer idiotic remarks thrown at him. For any case to be brought forward, I'd guess that if there was video from a restaurant security camera, it might be beneficial.
Refueler, it's also possible that any action that you consider, or take, might be due to a presumed cathartic reaction?
Whatever; you know best yourself, and I only wish you a swift and full recovery. (y)

Thank you ...

In fact the matter of suing was not actually my idea ... and not from a lawyer or some idiot compo culture guy ....
Since my incident - it appears I am not only one to have slipped on this floor ... but like so many usually no-one does anything. Then instead of just bruised arse ... its a fracture. If the restaurant was to replace with non-slip exterior tiles more suited instead of the smooth - I'm happy enough ... no need for money.

As to the path the thread has taken .... shame on those with nothing better to do than show how 'macho' and rude they can be. As I said before - Lets hope it never happens to you.

Today I found out the pain killers I have are opioid ..... but still barely touching the pain. So its going to be careful monitoring and wean off later .....

I'm actually ashamed of some of the posts some have posted ....

Get well soon, as it happens the day after I antifouled and my boat had it ready for action (earliest I have managed it in 15 years), I was told I needed a bypass.

Recovering very well so I might get some sailing in late August /September...I am being very cautious.

Having seen guys in the building industry who were too macho with back injuries I'd advise you to be equally cautious...

As for the opiods...take them...no need to be suffering but be sure to take the laxitives.....

If you are not getting relief ask to see a pain specialist..

Take care..

This is what you said in your first post:

"I am considering looking at compensation against Restaurant for their unsafe tiled entrance ... have to talk to someone - get advice."

Nothing about getting the restaurant to modify the floor, the operative word is compensation, all the rest came when people started to tell you a few home truths about your action. I am afraid with that one sentence it removes any element of credibility to the rest of your story. Regardless of that I hope whatever course of treatment you opt for it goes well and you have a good outcome.

The original argument was 50-50 blame ... and I am sure he never intended such serious injury when outside later.
Whether he did or he didn't, he has caused you grievous bodily harm, you have suffered life-changing injuries. Even if, as you say, he did not intend that outcome he could still, under English law, be facing a charge that could result in him serving a prison sentence.

Isn't there an equivalent law in Latvia?

What if the other party was acting in self defence? Remember, we only have half the story.
