Yeah, go for it. It pays to advertise, & all sensible people will know to keep well clear of you 'coz you'll be blasting disco, or house muzak out all night on an otherwise lovely anchorage. :eek:

Why do you bother coming on this forum? Your comments are invariably negative and add nothing to the discussion. As I've said before, the forums are like a TV set. If you don't like what's on, 'eff off to another channel

Searushes
comments are nearly all possitive and mostly pro Mobo, besides a forum is nothing like a TV set, with a TV your stuck with what you get. With a forum you can actually have an oppinion. I thought thats what it's for.

Sorry, i don't get it ???????

Without new people, the forums would wither away and die. Surely todays "newbies" will be tomorrows "regulars" ?

That is, if you don't scare them all away with insults. I've seen a few that turn up, ask a question or two and vanish as a result of their treatment here. Hopefully ACE1 won't be another victim.

Well my oppinion (sic), because I'm entitled to one also, is that Searush's comment on this thread was negative and added nothing to the OP's knowledge. In fact if anything, its likely to discourage the OP from ever coming here again. Yeah underwater lights may be a bit chavtastic bling but if the OP wants them, who is Searush to wade in with offensive comments?

It's the dumping down of the forum, into a mend it bodge it forum.

Instead of a where we going next forum, look what we saw forum. How do we get to X forum. Theres nothing at all anymore about boating. It's just about broke down boating, which is miserable enough in it's self, without broadcasting it all the time.

It's like being in a pub where some ones constantly changing the barrel, but no one ever gets anything to drink. Or the gas has blown out again, so no ones eating again.

How long do you go to the pub, thats constantly broke down??

P'raps that's the problem. We're all broken down, skint and can't afford diesel or wasted all our cash on disco lights, so we can't go out :D

But, i've said it before, threads on here about peoples trips seem to generate very limited interest, hardly anyone replies to them. On the other hand, "do i need a liferaft" or "jfm's new boat" attract a lot of replies. Be that good or bad, it's what people seem to be interested in at the moment.

Difference is Phil, you and searush, actually go some place, even bother to write articles in MBY, or put a report on here. It's not all take. Your giving, you make contributions. Thats what keeps the forum alive.

This place has become like a hiking forum, but everyones got a wooden leg.

hlb, It appears to me that there are lots of section on this forum so can't you suggested one especially for YOUR thing ? (I was directed here by the moderator) Save you having to listening or rather read us "newbie's" learning and gaining the knowledge you obviously have ? (Incidentally bet you got a lot of knowledge from asking other people from time to time…..) :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
 
I'm sure lots of people complain and moan here just because they can - perhaps in other areas of their lives SWMBO's won't let them.

I've seen complaints about too much boaty stuff and now not enough! Excellent. Perhaps the trip and where we are going aspects are separating out, personally I put actual voyagy stuf fon the Bristol Channel forum. Maybe I should stick it here to.

So where am going next? Planning a long weekend christmas shopping in cardiff on the 18th/19th provided the marina isn't frozen. See you at mermaid quay.

Searush frequently adds value in both knowledge and humour but is most valuable in being able to explain how and why sailors do otherwise in explicable and dangerous antics, without an experienced and friendly sailor such as Searush on this mobo forum some of us would have to frequent scuttleburks more frequently in the search for knowledge and have to deal with the likes of ...................

You were the one who got tired of some waffle about passage planning and said, "FFS, go out of the marina and turn right." Now no one needs to ask any more.
I'm not sure stories about passages are that interesting, unless really unusual. Interesting for those who took part, sure, and thats probably why most people keep it to themselves.
