i must say i found the tavelling to this boat show easier than the Earls court shows even though the lack info on the train station was surprising.
But it was obviously not as profitable for the exhibitors judging by the eagerness to do a deal and take my current boat in part ex.
i thought it was a better venue as it was not spread over 2 floors but still had the pleasure of a coffee and sarnie for £6.00 still a good day out.

I had a great day there on Monday.
It was really quiet though. So strange to be welcomed on to the "big" stands and be way outnumbered by the sales people. They were eager just to get people on the boats. How different from a few years back!! Chatted to so many sales people I never made it to the North Hall so may have to go back again tomorrow.

We went Monday too!

How was our experience?

Well we made the mistake of driving, took 3 hours in the traffic.

Found Excel before any signs

Got turned round and sent to the park and ride

Got to the park and ride, 2 buses waiting but no drivers

Got soaked, waiting for another bus that was sent to get us

Were we enjoying ourselves yet??? ......................... NO

Then someone else (didn't get his name) who had a similar journey, and experience, gave us free tickets ......... nice man, fanku!!

Got on the bus (eventually, 2 drowned rats by this time) got into the venue, and boy was it quiet!

I was actually quite nice being that quiet, made it easy to look at all those loverly gleaming boats and dream.

Ended up not too bad a day after all, but will we go again??

Forgot to say. I only live in Kent. 30 miles max to Excel. Made the mistake of going by public transport. Big mistake. It took over two hours. I could have almost driven to Birmigham in that time. They want to put the Olympics in East London..........come on!!

Yes I agree with you, I went on Wednesday courtesy of Fairline never had so much attn of sales people, I thought it was a good day out. I am going back on the last day Sun for the best bargains, lots of bits & pieces that I need. but then I only live 5 mins from Excel. I thought the Jenneau 32 fly was the best boat in its class even though I dont favour flybridge cruisers.loads of room & well finished. I could definatly be into one of these by next year. ................Nat
