Some time ago I posted the idea of a comparative boat review.
At the time the powers said they would think about it. Well?

I also note that the co-incidence whereby a second hand boat is reviewed in the same month as an advertiser just happens to have the same boat for sale was back last month. I await will interest to see what will happen this month.

The stinkie mags have started doing quite good comparative reviews very recently.

Side by side reviews would be interesting, but as it seems the reviews are in reality just a varity of advertising I doubt the powers that be would embrace this idea.

Part of the trouble seems to be that the reviewers are leant the boat for a few hours by the sales team, so any real testing is very difficult as would putting two boats on the water side by side.

My original idea was for a more "warts and all" review than the current style. To publish (lawyers permitting) two reviews of the same boat, one in each style and see what the readership's reaction was.
