Afer taking delivery of our boat this week, we had an unfortunate incident with transport.
The boat arrived with a 300mm x 150mm hole in the keel due to being loaded incorrectly and a none load bearing part of the keel getting damaged.
The delivery firm subcontracted the work to a third party but fair play to them they've stepped up and agread to pay for the keel repair regardless of cost.
Because of this i'm not going to mention the transport company as this is mearly for reference.
Because of the work getting done the boat is now in the baot yard for three to for weeks at no cost to myself.
I'm going to use the oppotunity to replace the galley kitchen, the sofa's and the original wood work as its mostly sun faded laquered wood.
The boat is 1990 so its not really old but old enough to appear dated.
I've bought the boat at what I feel is a good price and well below the asking price so can afford to spend upto £10k on updating it to a more modern finish. I don't expect to recoup the cost of the refurb but should make any resale a little easier should the time come.
Anybody have any first had experience of a project similar to this? The boat is a 39 ft flybridge.
Regards
Mark
