Boat Rage

I would like to publically thank the 'joe front' that raced down the River Blackwater in his motor cruiser at around 1715hrs on Sept 20th. I should guess he was doing in excess of 20 knots where the limit is 8 Knots. The massive wash created as he roared downstream caused all moored craft to pitch and roll severely; onboard my yacht a newly opened bottle of wine was sent crashing to the floor and a hot soldering iron also fell onto the saloon carpet making a nice burn. So many thanks 'friend' for your unseamanlike action. I just hope that you are never in need of assistance when I am nearby because to coin an expression ' I would't **** on you if you were on fire' - nothing personal of course!

In Tallinn we have a particular motor boat - very large one in fact ..... funny how the owner / crew are part of the EU contingent here ...... with Porsches etc. etc. Anyway this boat ... a Princess 44, has a docking station aft for a small Rib. This is the sort where you sit on a fore-aft seat behind a wheel midships. It has of course the required humungously large overpowered outboard on the arse-end.

So what does the daughter of this 'friend of Europe' do ...... full throttle s---t all round the marina whenever they are sitting having cocktails or visiting the 'boat'.

I cannot tell what measures have been contemplated for this situation - but lets just say that the EU may not like what happens to him one day !!!

Oh and another bit ..... he oftens uses local guys to crew - possiby 1 / 2 'hands ..... when he returns after his usual couple of hours of churning up Tallinn Bay waters .... he 'reverses' into the meddy mooring leaving a single guy on the bow to sort out 2 bow buoys and lines. Now this sounds fair ..... but he has a powerful bow thruster and some mighty engines ! Poor guy struggles to clip on the lines while this joker stands on the top fly-bridge playing which lever / button shall I move / press next.

One day I shall video this and shall provde conversation for many years to come !!

Nearly forgot ....... Jeremy Clarkson would have an orgasm if he looked around the EU car-parks in the Baltics - not least Tallinns !!!! New Jags, Range Rovers, Porsches, Lexus etc. etc ..... no wonder the poor Baltic people want to join - they all think they'll get a feebie Jag as well !!!!
