Boat moored "the wrong way round"!

It didn't happen after they were replaced the previous time, about seven years ago.
The only difference being that this time the sinkers were re-spaced and, this time I was away when they dragged.

There might be lots of reasons why they didnt drag last time. I appreciate how you feel, but its their mooring and I don't see you winning the argument.

It seems that there is someone at the EA who is actively trying to make this arrangement work, not a faceless bureaucracy. Why not meet with him or her and try to work out what is going to work best. Who knows, the OP might end up with an arrangement which puts less strain on the boat's fittings and warps and an ally at the EA.

As I said in the original post of the correspondence above

" I still require your boat on that mooring to be tied up facing upstream as with the rest of the boats on that section."
Next time I visit the boat, providing conditions are favourable, I will turn the boat to face upstream, but this is only out of courtesy as there is nothing in the mooring T's & C's to say that boats can only be moored facing upstream.

I had a mooring quite close to the OP a couple of years ago and it was quite common to see boats facing either direction. The problem, especially when single handed, is picking up the mooring when travelling the same direction as the tide as boats are fairly close together and the trot can at times be very lose with a risk of getting your prop fouled. Mooring against the tide, you can just glide in and let the tide stop you.
It's worth noting though, the OP has offered to comply (as stated in his original post) with the EA's instructions.

You can ferry-glide ahead or astern. So if you want to, you can end up facing upriver in either direction of tidal flow.

I envy you being able to do that.
I can ferry glide ahead into the tiniest of spaces, but to do so in reverse with any reliability is almost impossible with my boat.
