Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeessssss. Either leg is fine by me.
AND I'll make the tea for everyone. How's that for a deal. And a good trial for your stabilisers
For those who don't know the "tea" story, as Jfm said this would be 1999 or 2000 and he had his beautiful new boat, "Brayfart of Lymington" in Lymington and tcm and a couple of other formites were bringing a small speed boat back from Dover to the Solent. So jfm decided to be a good egg (see he was one even then) and meet them half way and escort them back 'cos he had "the chart plotter" and I somehow wangled my way on to the trip. Half way round the plan went a bit pete tong when sea sickness over took the speedboat skipper and they heaved to while the skip heaved too to. So we did the same, just waiting around in the swell in the Solent near Nabs Head if memory serves me well for them to get to the meeting point or call it quits and divert to Brighton - which they did in the end.
So there we are bobbing about in the Solent waiting for tcm's mob to decide to continue or not and I very kindly offered to make tea for everyone.
Down to the galley and the pot of nice strong "builders tea" is all merrily brewing away when jfm (and I'll blame him 'cos he was driving), decided to turn us round into the waves again and the boat bobbed a bit violently and somehow the whole pot of tea ended up on the boat's pristine white carpet. But it was OK, I didn't get scalded or hurt. Apart from my pride.
Oh dear oh dear said me and reported to jfm who in his inimitable way said, "oh don't worry I've got a spare carpet in the garage, don't fret over it". Nice bloke eh?
Now actually IMHO it was all jfm's fault anyway. a) for moving the boat round, b) for not having stabilisers and c) for forcing me to make the tea in first place.
Now some or none of the above may be true, but it's not a bad story but i've not been on one of his boats since.
So I promise NO tea (or coffee) this time. Will the beer fridge be stocked?
