I have found a way of running all my tube heaters &dehumidifiers only when needed ie just above freezing , in my case i set it at +5deg. Onto my shore power cable femail [f] i plug in a new blue male [m] plug a short length of cable connected to a rubber 13a socket [f]. Then into this a B&Q thermostatic addapter cost about £18. 13amp rated. Into this is plugged a 13amp rubber plug another short cable and this is plugged into the boat[f] socket via a new[m] plug. Luckily my boat socket is in the dry,but if your socket is out in the rain the cables can be made longer and the unit and plugs brought into the dry. An additional r.c.d can be incorporated as required. If your bat. charger is left on this will also work but if your isotator switches are off any 12v equipment left switched on will operate.

Interesting - was thinking something like this shoiuld be done on mine...my only "concern" might be that something trips out when the adaptor custs in... but other than that....good idea
