What voltage is the charging loop rated at ?

If 13-14vdc then Buy a deep discharge 12volt battery and power your instruments from this. there are of course some other requirements, If not already fitted???

ie a 12v distribution system (3 way should be sufficiant)
a Battery isolator switch.
associated wiring.

The three way distribution board will give you the option to fit navlights,VHF,and your instruments.

Hope this helps

Check the solar powered TACK-TICK line of instruments. They are wireless on top of it. Wish they had launched those earlier....

Or even a motorcycle battery as you won't be using it for starting, or serious power drain.
