Sorry to hear of your problem but not too surprised. Having met this problem several times before I agree that getting the old one out is bad enough but getting a new one in is impossible! One solution I have used in the past is to fabricate a tank in two parts with a bolted flange half way up. It's a more expensive solution of course but you can either have it fabricated in stainless or find a good plastics fabricator to make it for you. I also moulded one in GRP once like this. Pretty easy if you are able to do it yourself. You need to make a mould out of plywood the internal shape you need with a slight taper towards the middle to release (easy) Paint and wax it and use plenty of release agent (time consuming but not difficult). Make a flange half way up and mould the bottom half, then remove the flange and mould the top half. Remove the two halves and paint out the inside with food grade epoxy. You can then take the two halves to site and fit in situ with bolts through the flange. At any future time if needed it can come apart for cleaning.....
