and in the water.Off this morning to start loading all the junk which appeared from nowhere on old boat to new one. Which has loads more space to accommodate stuff which is festering at home, but is not used any more and is to good to throw out, so why not put it down on the boat etc?.
Now have a wheel house full of loverly mysterious gadgets with loads of knobs n switches to twiddle with.Plus all those lockers to open and see what junk the previous owner left, to add to your my own collection of rubbish stuff which will never ever ever "come in useful".Also have proper grown up set davits to dangle inflateable from so can now join in boring inflateable debate postings on forum.
If time permits might see if engines actually run.
And the best bit of all can now say things like Gawd petrol is soooooo expensive wot you need is a d.......... etc.

Glad to see your getting into the spirit of it. Propper davit too. Waw! Have you had a go with them yet. Does'nt realy matter to much if the engine does not go for a year or two. Theres still plenty to do. Deciding which junk is good junk or just plain junk. I thought we were going to the boat today, but Tutt's has got other ideas. Yet to find out what??

Might as well Colin. And the boat keys. Hang on what am I saying. No not them. I'm sat here like a plonker while she's snoring her head off. I even got all the gardening done yesterday due to idiot getting two four wheel drive motors stuck at the bottom of the field. So got free labour for the whole day, till the monster tractor came, at five oclock. Ha Ha! It's an ill wind that does nobody any good.

I'm stuck out here and I always look like a plonker, it's the way I smile, I think! But, soon, I'll be off again, just another 1000 feet to drill, then its back to Ibiza!!! I have been pricing anchor winches, they are horrendously expensive, big uns' anyway! I may have to rethink this and manage with my spare anchor and capstan until winter, then see if I can get a new motor for my old one, it will have to be a different type and modify the bracketry, but where theres a will, theres a way! especially if your a tight bastard like myself!! I'll get a deal on a new one or repair mine, thats for sure, if I have time, I can get one imported from the states, they are an awful lot cheaper over there!

O jolly japes first and most important put BURGEE on mast thingy then both engines started and sound on the money.
Couple of minor weeps on jab pumps and sender on one engine temp gauge not working otherwise everthing seems to go except one leg pump goes down but not up.Tried jump lead direct to motor and couple of good thumps but no go.Suspect new motor required so not bad result then as pump looks like original thing fitted 20 yrs ago.
Also found lotsa stuff in boxes to rummage through.
Tomorrow intend putting couple of pints of fuel in and test flight down river, will of course wait until suitable gap in stream of posh Fairlines and Brooms etc have gone by in order to appear swankiest boat in view at time.

Do as I do and find the smallest ugliest port or harbour you can. err, not easy on a river but you get the drift. Then you look like you've got the biggest poshest boat in the world, and every one comes to look. Never go to swanky places though cos then you look old and naff.

Hmm interesting name.
Filled up with diesel this afternoon.450L.Got all gadgets going but oil alarm on start up a bit wonky stays on for a bit but very quiet, going to change on Wednesday.
Went for short trip up river and only real complaint is wheel is a bit stiff/heavy might need good grease up or maybe just because of those 2 x great lumps of metal hanging off back of boat better on plane perhaps..Do you recall your boat being bit heavy on the helm.
This thing has not got power steering, but does have Auto pilot thingy.
