Hello there ,
Think that i have just blown up my regulator , had switched on engine and noticed that my charging light was on (shound not be ) therefore something was amiss .
I had left the ignition key in the off position for about 15 minutes , however i was told that this would not cause any problems, therefore i have now checked all wiring which was sound except the live battery terminal was slack on the engine starting battery (two battery system thing master swicht was on engine battery).
Have now stripped out alternator and have checked diodes (dual charging) which appear to be OK .
How does one check the regulator ?? (it is bolted onto back of alternator)
Ps Engine is a Volvo MD7B
Many Thanks
Andrew
