had my oil cooler replaced friday but they couldnt find keys to test engine. So i didnt find this out until i got down on sat night, a scibbled note on a piece of cardboard. so i found the keys same place they always are ,and where they always found them before, anyway turn over port engine ,this is the one that lost its oil 2 weeks ago when cooler sprung aleak, but now it wont start, turns over but wont fire at all. checked fuel supply all ok , now im being told that its probably a compression problem , sounds serious and expensive. Volvo going down this week to check it out. am i in for a shock?

If it ran before and just leaked oil, then they repaired the oil leak, it must be something they did, how the hell, can they say it's a compressor problem over the phone??? I would question their diagnosis and their fitter who did the job, this smells very much like two week old mackerel!

almost certainly not. You know how much these things cost... Did you honestly think it would be simple and cheap to fix???

If it ran alright when you stopped it, it should run ok now. How much oil did you loose. How did you find out it was leaking? Hope it was not because the engine stopped!!. If none of these, just undo a couple of injector pipes and spray a bit of diesel round! If it dont start then. Worry!

No one can force me to come here-----------

As you know I’m not a VP owner but I know a few who are. Can’t remember exactly which engine it was but I do remember that I was once told by a VP trained mechanic that certain models were absolute B***ards when it came to bleeding out the fuel supply, indeed you could only get the last of the air out of the system with the engine running. This may be the biggest load of b*****s that you’ve ever heard if so sorry. But it may just be the problem. More importantly, if the lump was running before the chappie laid tools on it so it’s his problem to get it going at no expense to yourself. Or is this level of logic too much for the VP boys ??

Good luck

Bollocks , more like the stop is sticking yours has a solenoid perhaps its stuck .
If stop is a cable even better cos you can make sure its not in the off position
I cant beleive the crap that people come out with.
as other have said if it was ok before !!! ( it was ok before ?)
then it should be ok now.
What did he undo to get at the cooler , this is the normal thing and to say he cant find the keys tells you he tried but failed to start it ( my opinion of course )
if you dont know look at the other one and compare the two.

Cheers
Mick
