Can anyone tell me where can I buy spare blades for my Skarsten scrapers? Someone told me that Skarsten have ceased trading. Is this true? Seems a shame, as they were a good product.
Don't know about Skarsten anymore, couldn't find them anywhere. I'm using the Bosch ones now, bought from the Dulux commercial shop. Brewers also do them.
There seems to be a few different manufacturers all using the same basic pattern of blades, so perhaps it might be worth taking the scraper to a commercial painter supply shop? Good luck.
Sorry Starboard, but I have to agree with Talbot and stick with my Bacho one.
I can put a lot of pressure on the blade as it is two handed, and is no comparison to the one handed one I started out with. It is well worth the extra few quid and has saved me hours and hours of frustration and extra work.
Can't comment on the Bacho as not used one although their saw's are top dog. All the boatbuilders/repair people around here seem very happy with the Linbide...as for two handed operation thats not neded as the blade is that good......if you have to use two hands I suggest your equipment is not up to the job!!
