Black permanent marker on gel coat

I have some black permanent marker on my white gel coat, any suggestions on how to remove it please.

So far tried polish and Y10

Its not very easy to buff as partially obscured.

Meths ( removes the ones I use)

Antifouling thinners

Acetone or MEK

Sunlight ( the big shiny thing, not the sort the shepherds used to wash their socks)

Go out and buy some white board cleaner and your local
office supply store.

Saturate a paper towel and hold it there for several minuets
then wipe it off it may take a couple applications to get it off
but its not a harsh as Acetone.

Peek Cream Polish will get it off no problem and will also make the gelcoat look good.

Try a 'magic eraser' its a sponge that wears out as it cleans its available from Ebay or Robert Dyas (I think).These things are fantastic they remove dirt easily from the catwalks- pvc seats.stainless steele ect ect.I would not be without one on my boat.

Watch out for Acetone, a great solvent, so good it will eat many GRP resins.

There are a few abrasive polishers they come in light medium and heavy, I've found the heavy will get rid of most marks, even scratches.

Woolies used to sell it but Lidle and Aldi often have it in.

I will take a box full of the above next time I go to the boat and keep my fingers crossed.

Permanent marker on a white board can be removed by colouring over with a dry wipe marker.

I assume the same would work on gelcoat. Worth a try.

I made the mistake once to use permanent markers on a white board; this could be easily removed by using the white board markers over the permanent marker lines (criss cross them over); maybe this will work on gel coat too?
