Economical !
1. Rarely used !! but I have SUUNTO Commander. Good for bearings and also doubles as steering compass in its mount. I compared against Plastimo's, Silva's etyc and decided it was well priced and offered better value.
2. Flares ..... don't buy all at one time !! Buy one a month, or spread the cost over a period - then you replace as necessary and don't end up out of pocket in one foul swoop ... and DO NOT THROW away the old ones for at least 3-4 years AFTER expiry ..... they are still working most likely and provide extra for that time you need 'em.
3. Car number plate letters .... or flat black paint .... such as Humbrol enamel ..... abrade the surface a little first.
4. 150 should be OK if you can float / swim etc. and Crutch straps are well advised otherwise the thing will rise over your head and could actually drown you ! I'm 14st and mine held me OK ....
5. EPIRB ...... an offshore thing really .... good but a little OTT !!
