Best way to get from Athens to Leros Is.

2 out , 1 in

Twice a day going to Leros (once a day returning)
Olympic and Aegean have only just (last week) decided who is running the route this year and unfortunately its Olympic.
Not cheap this year, have just paid 330 euro for 2 return flights for Easter.
Other way to consider is charter flight direct to KOS, overnight in cheap hotel and the "vomit comet" aka Dodecanese Pride KOS - Leros at 11:00 the next day.

or take the ferry

At the moment the ferry is only running on Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving Piraeus at 19.00 and arriving in Lakki about 4 am. Costs more than the flight if you want a cabin, but cheap to sleep on the floor.

or go via Mastikhari

If you can get an early Easyjet or charter to Kos, take the bus or taxi to Mastikhari (10 minutes), then 2 pm ferry to Pothia (Kalymnos) and pick up the hydrofoil to Agia Marina, Leros. But check the timetables. If the worst comes to the worst you are better off staying in Pothia (or Mastikhari) than in Kos (and you save the horrendous taxi fare to Kos from the airport - the bus is good but rarely connects with flights).

What do you mean by horrendous taxi fare ? It cost me 80 euros to get from Dalaman to Marti

Hi Guys,

Just got back from Leros last weekend. There are two ways to avoid the Kos airport Taxi Fare, one is the local Ktel Bus phone:+3022420 22292. Currently there are 2 buses each way to the airport, but neither meets the incoming 20.30 easyjet flights. The other way is A2B transfers about 7GBP each way to Kos Town/Port.
Unfortunately there isn't anyway of avoiding an overnight stay on Kos as the Blue Star Ferry departs Kos Town around the time of the Easyjet flight to Kos. Hotels cost from about Eur 15 upwards in Kos Town - the harbour is pretty deserted, even Macdonalds is closed for the winter.

The blue star ferry from Kos to Leros costs 11.50Eur, arrives at Lakki at 22.00-23.00. There are taxis meeting the ferry (even the 04.30 Leros to Kos Ferry).

If you want to ship spares/parts to Leros (sharing my costs) PM me.
