Which are your favourite pubs for sailors? Planning a trip around the UK and might need some liquid motivation to sail to the next beautiful spot.

The Ramsholt Arms on the River Deben, Suffolk! Beautiful spot, ask George Collins the harbour master, if you can pick up a mooring, he's very helpful. The Deben is known as the jewel of Suffolk and I love it there. The Ramsholt serves good food and good ale. Enjoy!

I used to be a regular there! Of course it was in East Lothian not Borders then

The Ferry Boat Inn at Dittisham.

The Shipwright's Arms at Faversham (though the Landlord is a bit, erm, eccentric)

The Folly at Whippingham - a great yachtsman's pub, but not the place to go if you're seeking peace and quiet.

The Bankes Arms at Studland - anchor there while you still can!

Dock Inn

Enjoyed a pint or 2 in the Dock Inn Penzance a week ago . No junk box, No flashing lighted, money machine, shouting feed me, in the corner and no TV ! The leather armchairs were quite comfy infront of 2 blazing ,log... nah no such luck.. artificial coal gas fires

Edit : And there were no shouty yoofs

Borringdon Arms, Turnchapel, Plymouth. Excellent beer and tasty home cooked pub grub at sensible prices.

In Dartmouth, the Cherub, good beers and a great atmosphere.
