Best cheap Class B AIS transponder?

I am sure that this has been done before but things and technology changes so what is the best budget transponder?

Well, I’m not sure what you call cheap, but Hudson Marine are selling refurbed AIS 700s for £500. I have one, came boxed and looking like new.

If I were in the market, I'd be very tempted by the em-trak products. Quality products, manufactured in Europe, with superb customer service, all backed by a global 3-year warranty, and supported by excellent instruction manuals written by people who speak English.

I've fitted lots of Emtrak AIS, never had a single issue.

It's a good unit, but it would need a separate VHF antenna, or a splitter. The B923 might be a better choice if you need either of those.

Thanks I have a separate antenna thast I run a nasa receive only AIS engine.

In that case, i'd go for the B921
