hi,
My old shetland is about to be re-launched shortly,migrating from the back garden at last!!.Ive been offered a mooring at wells harbour by the very nice Harbour master,he asked me where i wanted to be in the harbour,i did not give him an answer as was not sure where was the best ,leaving it to when i take boat down.Has anyone had experience of mooring in harbour,and where,s the best place to be???

Well not being conversent with Wells harbour. I would think it dependes on you priorities. Do you want it in the safe spot. In the ready for sea spot. As soon as the tide comes in spot. Or the not realy going any where spot. Goda answer that first. Before enlightened desision.

Only visited Wells from landside but seem to remember a place full of character but with lots of dry bits when the tides out and some interesting currents. If it was me I'd be down there talking to the locals and other boat owners...much the best way of finding out the score ...and asking the Harbourmaster himself what the pros and cons are.
