Any idea where we can get a berth for a crew changeover with the RTIR going on.
Anywhere but Cowes should be little busier than normal I would expect. Boats who visit the Solent for the race will generally head to Cowes. The rest of the fleet are generally sailing from their own berths, not visitors berths.Any idea where we can get a berth for a crew changeover with the RTIR going on.
Surely BH marina will be full booked by now…….?Quite a few hang a right immediately after the finish line and gun it for a dinner at the Master Builder.
Did they ever reopen to non-residents? We went last year but it was just drinks unless you had a roomQuite a few hang a right immediately after the finish line and gun it for a dinner at the Master Builder.
Sailing since Covid in the Solent means ringing on Monday to get a weekend berth.
Yep, was there a couple of weeks ago. Meal on the terrace. Although, I think they count marina users as 'residents'Did they ever reopen to non-residents? We went last year but it was just drinks unless you had a room
Haslar got rid of visitors moorings, it's now decked over and is used for Mary Mouse visitors.Depends on your size but I would expect that most of the Hamble marinas could manage a short stay. Gosport for good rail links (Gosport Ferry to Portsmouth Had station) or Town Quay/Ocean Village for Southampton Central, although that is quite a walk and if your crew has much luggage they might want a taxi.

The deck bar is gone this year, the area is used for all sorts. Last month it was paddleboarding for kids during a festival, seen a few rallies there, seen visitor boats there, but the big decking area hasn't come back yet. There are a lot of empty berths at Haslar due to the huge pontoon extensions they did this year. I've not seen it full for a long time. If it helps, my berth will be free this weekend as we're off to Chi HarbourHaslar got rid of visitors moorings, it's now decked over and is used for Mary Mouse visitors.
