Has anyone replaced the lower rudder bearing on one of these? Before dismantling I would like to know what it is made of and whether replacements are obtainable. Thanks.

This subject came up last month, see here Beneteau 760 steering and rudder problems , mine is still ok so have not had to remove it but it looks like a simple plastic top-hat bearing. Think you will have to have a new bearing machined, as I have not found an off the shelf one, but not in Plyamide/Nylon which swells when wet. A common material for this is Acetal/Delrin.

The Antares 760 is a great boat but was not originally fitted with a holding tank and there is no obvious place to fit one although you may be able to in the locker under the forward port side V-birth. If we are going anywhere, such as the non-tidal Thames, where sea toilets should not be used, I have a portapoti that fits using the same bolts as the standard fit Jabsco heads so it's a quick job to swap.
