fight town
Talking about fighting
I will be fighting all and sundry the weekend in question
To dig into yer pockets for the following Charity
'Gwynedd and Anglesey Aspergers/ Autism Support Group'
Me mate Duncan who (unfortunately for Him) is involved with Me in the boaty business is a Big supporter
The Group is very supportive of children who suffer from the aforementioned
So be ready to be 'fought' for dosh!!
I will have a rib handy (Probably 'Black Jack' the one that did the record thing) from Saturday morning and Sunday as well
For them that want a blast through the Swellies etc etc etc and a hands on go if yer likes
Then I can just sit back and sober up!!
Whichever vessel I turn up with it will have a big engine on the blunt end and a big receptical on tother end for to throw coinage etc in innit!
I haven't checked but me tide brain/clock tells me it will be Neaps so not a lot going on tidewise but Im sure we can find some squiggly bits and bouncy bits
Over Caernarfon bar etc
Anyway for those that haven't been through the Strait or over towards Llanddwyn Island or even Puffin Island we have two days to 'Adventure'
Beauty of the Strait as those that know it doesn't matter how it blows we can go one way or tother
If it rains, so be it
Plus, depending on the tides I can pick up at Dinorwic , Menai Bridge or Caernarfon
Menai is 24/7 access so no prob with water
Plus if any 'Newbs' who are about we can do a Swellies 'knowledge' bit
Even going around the wrong side of that Island in the middle whatever its called
There some stuff round that side I haven't hit yet so that's an Agenda too!
I'll check the tides proper like later so's I can fix a more better itininerinary thinghie innit
:encouragement:

At neaps the slipway by Vicky Dock should be pretty much all tide too, altho I'm hoping to get a Celtic Gig there for peeps to try (with expert help) around 3-5pm (HW) on Saturday.

This is Macsen, rowing thro the Swellies;

I can t speak it, but we have beer called Patois, and I manage to drink that.
Perhaps i will bring a bottle with me.

Qwackers only spent £3 qwid on is lady on mothers day ,i asked why £3 ,it was all she had in her purse he replied .scousers

Talking of cameras - I'll be bringing a Sanyo Xacti (waterproof) video camera, and a rail or arch mount, to (hopefully) try and get a bit of RIB video. :encouragement:

I'm considering rounding up the cost to 15 quid from £12.50 to put a few bottles of wine on the table - probably enough to give us about a glass or two each with the food. As not everyone will drink wine would this be a problem?

I will assume that if no-one screams that this is a reasonable idea as it suits me . . . :encouragement:

I normally buy my wine for laying down..:encouragement:
I think the idea of a few glasses of wine on the table is fine by me..
I will probably end up having a lie down after the meal anyway..

The bar is staffed by volunteers as is everything else, you may need to be patient as our full time steward is on long term sick at present. The idea is that a few bottles down the tables & everyone with a glass may just take a little pressure off the bar.

It looks like there will be a rowing gig & crew available at around 3-5pm on the Saturday afternoon at the old ferry slipway by the Marina Entrance for those wishing to try a trip in a rather special boat. Kwacka is likely to be around the same spot at the same time in a high speed RIB for those who lack the ability to "pull their weight" in a Gig.

There will also be access to the Barbican & via the unusual left-handed spiral staircase to the roof of the gatehouse. Spiral staircases in medieval buildings are always right-handed so the person at the top of the stairway has a significant advantage over attackers below who will find it much harder to use a sword in their right hand. We don't know why ours is the wrong way round, maybe it was defended by left-handed soldiers!
