Been very impetuous!!!

Oooh! Haven't had much time for the forums lately, but seems there's a few changes going on. Great choice and look forward to catching up when you're next down this way. Did you ever sell the Quantum (IIRC)? I guess you must have or it'd be three boats...

Hi Robin, hope all is well with you and the family.

Yes the quantum sold last summer, our S37 should be gone next week fingers crossed.

Hope to get back to Brixham next season time permitting

Yes, all good thanks Andy - still plodding away at the project, but seem to have had very little time. Changing job in a few weeks, so hoping to have more time (and funds) soon! We'll keep an eye open for your return... :encouragement:

Good luck with both the new job and the project boat.

Did you have a Fletcher rally in 2014?

How's the new bypass progressing, hope the chaos is over soon

Thanks, new target date 2025... Expectation management! :) Yes, good event last year - a bit 'hilly', but that gave Nick Burnham some great photo ops. Don't know if you saw his Used Fletcher feature in one of the last MBMs, but done during the rally. There was going to be a write up on the event, but plug got pulled on the magazine before it went to print :( Nick's joining us with his own boat this year as we're broadening the reach to all sub 25' sportsboats - end of May bank holiday weekend this year along with the OCRDA racing and Brixfest, so will be loads going on.

Bypass is chaos and not due to finish until December so you were wise relocating further North for a while... Not only are there roadworks along the route as they re-align the road, but they've closed both back roads for widening, utilities and surfacing plus temp lights all around Newton Abbot whilst they burn off their remaining budget on 'lick & stick' surface dressings that'll last about 8 months... :ambivalence: (No, we're not in the least bit annoyed.... :p) Oh and they're widening the road at Telegraph Hill (Splatford Split)... A friend brings his boat down from Stoke on Trent 3-4 times a year and reckons it takes as long to get from Exeter to Torquay as from Stoke to Bristol sometimes!

Only involvement was facilitating by getting everyone together - Nick did a great job putting the article and video together :encouragement:

Not done the Hole in the Wall for a long while, have to confess that we don't get into town much during the winter for pubs. Not as young as I was and over-indulged too much back then! Will try and rectify by visiting in the next few weeks... :)

Well today officially sold the old boat and nearly have possession of the new one, here they are side by side in RK Yard Swanwick

Well done, our new boat is still out of the water on the other side of the bridge. She goes in next week then sea trials on the 7th

Are you staying in Swanwick or going back to port solent?

We've decide today in fact to moor the boat at Premier Gosport, as Port Solent were struggling to find us a 14m berth and Gosport were able to offer us a perfect for us spot, really wide with easy squared off stern to arrangement. We are awaiting for the engine service to complete (which they cannot do this week) but should see us complete by 14th

Great news, we considered the targa 44 but decided on the F43, very different boats with lots of benefits.

We complete on the 28th and will head back to mercury.

As always more pics please

Bit of an update after a prompt fro Elessar,

Last weekend we had the sea trial for our new boat IXORA.

Was very fortunate to be accompanied by Elessar and Mercuryman aka Tom Parker and his young apprentice

Sunseeker provided a skipper and crew who despite being young enough to be my children were incredibly skilled at their job.

Set off from B pontoon at Swanick in 21+nts without any drama's and enjoyed a very nice bimble towards the Solent, sun was shinning but was wondering how Southampton Water and the Solent would be.
Weather forecast suggested 1.5 to 1.9 mtr wave height but 13 to 19 seconds between swell. Turned right into Southampton Water and slowly opened the throttles, this is my first experience of electronic throttles and felt very different to current set up but soon got the hang of things.
Gently increased the revs in 500 rpm increments up to 2500 rpm, GPS said just over 30 knts and climbing. This was with 8 persons on board and low fuel and water.

Turned into the wind to see how she performed into the waves and wind, speed still @ 30 knts with some left to use. The boat cruised through the waves with the odd burst of spray catching us but on the whole she felt solid and planted and capable of much much more.

Top did his bit and was pleased to report that the engines were sorted, a minor niggle with the electrics on the port engine but nothing major.

Had Elessar give me the seal of approval, valued his input and was pleased that he gave her the thumbs up.

A few minor issues to deal with but all going to plan and have agreed a hand over date of the 27th March in Swanick.

Julie/Power Skipper, sorry we didn't wave at you, we were having too much fun :)

I love the F43. No boat that i know of has as much space for the length. Mine is hull number 2, and though a 390 is essentially an F43. This boat is 15 years younger than mine. And by then they'd got the hang of it.The EDC 74s make it come alive. Its the boat it should be.

I crawled all over it to find fault. It is one of the very best examples of what to my mind is one of the very best boats.

I wish jergen was a bit of a knob then i could be jealous. As it is i can only be happy and delighted because i dont think its possible to be jealous of a friend - not for me anyway.

Smashing boat. :)

Hopefully next time he's aboard he wont be a quivering idiot and will take some pictures!

Do you know it didn't even occur to me to take any pictures.

FWIW I was shaking just a little, partly due to the enormity of our purchase and partly because IXORA is a LOT bigger than evenstar3

Very kind words, knew if I chucked in lunch I'd get the thumbs up lol
